Awesome little joint! There was no wait and the back of the restaurant was a bar. I like that the bar was separate from the restaurant. We brought our kids and they had a bookshelf of kid activities to keep them entertained while we waited for our food. I ordered the plantain bowl with tempeh, it was very very flavorful! My husband ordered mojo pork tacos. He said the tacos were very good but the salsa was bland. Kid portions were perfect and reasonably priced. Overall good experience and I would recommend this restaurant for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters.

Mojo has amazing tacos and nachos. Their Kimchi is sweet and I'm pretty sure has pineapples which make it unique and amazing. I would definitely come here again just for the nachos. You order at the counter and there is live music in the back. Pretty eclectic vibe.

Mojo Kitchen & Lounge has the best nachos in town hands down. They are an amazing mix of made in house chips, meat, salsas and other delisiousness! They are in an unassuming building right downtown so it's probably pretty easy to miss the space, but go search for it. They have a great brunch on Sundays WITH live music! I've never had a bad meal here and I've always been able to find a place to sit.

Started our day at Mojo for a little breakfast before heading out with a small group of 6. What a wonderful little gem! This space is very unique and the food is clean and delicious. I know they take pride in what they serve. I'm surprised it wasn't busier! The portions are fine, but not necessarily super filling before a day drinking activity. All in all, solid.

This place was an Asheville favorite! The food, festive atmosphere, and great prices are a crowd pleaser. When you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and really cool, funky decor. The tables were wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper for the holidays. The menu has a lot of Vegetarian and Vegan options at a low price. They also have some really good teas, made fresh. I ordered a house salad and black bean soup. The soup was fresh and flavorful and the house made salad dressing was great. Each meal is served with fresh chips, which I thought was a special touch. The atmosphere is really fun and welcoming and the service is good. I will definitely be back to this funky hipster gem!

What a surprising place! Found the a spot on yelp, looking for vegan food. I know the usual vegan suspects in town and wanted something different. This place fit the bill since it also had meat, so ideal for me and my my partner. We got in and it was a Grateful Dead cover night; with music and a bar in a back! We had no idea this was a music spot too. You order food at a walk up counter and get a number; if you want a drink you can go in the back to the bar and wait there for the food or bring your drink to the tables in the "restaurant" side. I had deliberated the vegan choices, all clearly marked, and eventually went with the sweet plantain bowl, adding the locally made tempeh. The tempeh was blackened and awesome; I devoured my bowl. My partner got tacos; he got a catfish one and a special of the evening, a mushroom one. He loved the catfish but the greens on the mushroom one were too bitter. He gave it to someone at the bar who was so, so grateful! The music was great and I would go back there for the cheap drinks too (on a Friday night $3 for certain beers and $5 Moscow miles yes please). Loved my vegan food, sweet music, and cheap drinks!

I love this place. Everything and every time I go here I love it. Mojo is a small restaurant attached to a bar/venue. It can be standoffish at first since many people hang outside and smoke. Once you get past that you are ok. This last time I got the Sweet Plantain Bowl: Bed of sweet plantains topped w/ Signature MOJO. Signature mojo is Pineapple black bean salsa, citrus-cumin slaw, mango sauce and zesty ranch all mixed together. I added pork to it. This is the best thing I have ever had here. Try anything and you will love it. But the Mac and cheese I was not a huge fan, everything else is fantastic. You bus your own table but everyone that works here is super nice and knows everything about the food that is served. This is must.

Just out and about enjoying what downtown Asheville has to offer and stumbled upon this cool neighborhood hipster gem. There were at least four other restaurants that we passed (and read reviews on and checked out the menu) before we settled here and am happy to say that this place brought me a good time. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into when we walked in but there was a sofa by the front door, a bookcase with games and books of course, a small area with children's toys, beautiful artwork that could be purchased throughout the restaurant, a bar area in the back with a tv and a stage for all the musical people to perform, and just an overall come in and relax for a second feel. The chef actually came out to greet us and offered his suggestions (I always appreciate that and maybe he just knew we weren't from around these parts) and told us exactly how the whole thing worked (like order and pay here, and go grab a drink if you want, sit down wherever, and we will bring all your food to you). While waiting on our food, he brought us a sampling of some collard stew he made which was delish (collards, apples, sausage, and the broth that came from all that mixed together just warmed my spirit) and I thought that was really nice of him because not everyone is just going to give free food no matter how small or big. Stuck to being a complete fat kid the last day of 2015 and ordered the mojo Mac-n-cheese which was realllly hot (temp wise) and gooood and filled with black beans, some kind of gooey cheese, and I'm pretty sure there was some meat but I can't remember. Also had some chili cheese fries...yep...another great choice. Full of happiness when I left and appreciated the band playing in the background too. Check this place out if you're around!
